What is Beerphemera?

Firstly: Hello and welcome to Beerphemera. The Beer part should be obvious, and ephemera refers to:

Things that exist or are used or enjoyed for only a short time; items of collectable memorabilia, typically written or printed ones, that were originally expected to have only short-term usefulness or popularity.[1]

For me it means, labels, leaflets, beermats, posters, stickers, bottles, glasses, menus... Anything relating to beer, pubs or pub culture that I can fit into my bag and take home with me. Even if I probably shouldn't.

In time, I hope to get all of my Beerphemera on this site (which first means first means sorting through a large storage box and trying to remember where/when it all came from), get my Beer Chart online (for a more detailed idea of what that might look like, check out my friend's site Hop Horizons - although I don't have anywhere near the number or level of detail they have), and finally I'd like to open it up for others to share their beers and Beerphemera.

There are currently 8478 Beers, Ciders, and Meads in the Beerphemera chart.

[1]It originally meant a type of plant or insect with a very short lifespan, from the Greek ephēmeros (lasting only a day), before evolving into a person or thing of short-term interest. I've been using the word 'Beerphemera' for years but just learnt this.
